Design and Layout Service
|
We are pleased to offer
free design and layout service for all track systems. The fastest and
most efficient way to design a system for your needs is to examine a
floor plan of the space that needs to be illuminated and to discuss
with each client the type of business (product or service) involved.
Once there is a good
basic understanding of the project, we will suggest different track,
track heads and light bulbs options to achieve optimum results.
Every lighting design
and layout project has the following components:
- Floor Plan - Drawings
or Blueprints,
- Select a Track System,
choose from 2 Wire (L), 3 Wire (H) or Wire 2 Wire (J).
- Choose either Low
Voltage (12 Volt) or Line Voltage (120 Volt).
- Select Track Heads.
- Select the proper
lightbulb.
- Find a qualified licensed
electrician to properly install the track system and assure that the
proper power is available for the recommended plan.
All lighting layout suggestions
are recommended estimates based on the information provided. Light-A-Store.com
is not responsible for inaccurate layout instructions or problems arising
from suggested layouts. We recommend you use a qualified licensed electrician
to install your track lighting. Have your electrician review your bill
of materials before ordering. Do not schedule installation until all
parts have arrived and are checked in.

Step
One:
Create
a drawing of the space where track lighting is to be installed. It
will look similar to this drawing:

An architect's rendering is not necessary. Track lighting can be installed
as a straight line, as an "L", as an "X", or as a "T". Track lighting
can also be in the shape of a box.
Include
in your drawing overall dimensions of the total space and consumer
traffic walk ways, if known. It is also important to include the lengths
of each track lighting run that appears on the drawing.
Light-A-Store
can assist and fine tune your needs and give you the best quote after
you send the drawing to the address below. .

Listed below are track
lighting ideas for consideration:
-
Track lighting enhances
color, texture, depth, and merchandise presentation.
-
Track heads are "light
bulb holders," as the lamp does all the work.
-
Flood type bulbs can
feature one sofa or an entertainment center.
-
Spot type lamps can
show off art or the area of one coffee table from a 12-foot ceiling.
-
Use a mix of flood
and spot bulbs for depth and drama.
-
Create a grid system
for your track. Every display floor will change. Track lighting
is flexible and can adjust for any new set-up.
-
A system of rows or
right angles will work great for complete lighting coverage.
-
Track runs of 32 feet
can easily be created. Heads can be added as needed. Up to 1200
watts per run without re-powering the track.
-
Install an average
of one head every 2 feet (75 PAR 30).
-
Use black track and
heads on a black ceiling, white on white.
-
Track can be attached
to a laid in or dropped style ceiling with clips.
